Social Hockey

Return to teams

UPDATE: Currently, we are not able to run our Social Hockey sessions during the first university semester due to COVID-19 restrictions. Closer to the time, it will be assessed if we are able to start back again during second semester which we are hopeful for. We plan for all our team squads to still be able to train from September following England Hockey and social distancing guidelines so, don't worry we are still able to offer training for a wide range of levels. If you have any questions please contact our Executive Covid Officer and Social Sport Co-ordinator Molly Jones.

Our Social hockey training sessions run on Thursday evenings at Sheffield High School for Girls which is a 5 minute walk from the University Endcliffe accommodation and 10 minutes from the Ranmoor accommodation.

Social hockey is for anyone who has never played hockey before but wants to give it a try and for people who maybe haven't played in a while and are getting back into it. It's a mixed session open to everyone not matter your gender, ethnicity, beliefs, experience or skill.

It is run by our Social Sport Co-ordinator, Molly Jones, who you can find out more about on our committee page and all sessions are coached and helped out by other members in the club. Social sports sessions really are a great way to keep active, try something new, have fun, meet lots of new people and become part of one of the biggest sports societies at the university.

We look forward to seeing you in September and for more information you can check out the Sport Sheffield Social Sport page here.
