Return to teams

We are passionate about offering opportunities for everyone, no matter their ability or circumstances. Social hockey is for anyone who has never played hockey or who hasn't played in a long time and wants to give it a try in a social, friendly, non-competitive environment. It is a weekly mixed session open to everyone regardless of your gender, ethnicity, beliefs, experience, or skill.

Our social hockey training sessions run on Thursday evenings at Sheffield High School for Girls which is a 5 minute walk from the University Endcliffe flats, and 10 minutes from the Ranmoor flats. It

is run by our Social Sport Co-ordinator, Ibby Akinseye, who you can find more about on our committee page. All sessions are coached and helped out by other members in the club. Social sports sessions are a really great way to keep active, try something new, have fun, meet lots of new people and become part of one of the biggest sports societies at the university.

In the 2020/21 season, we were unfortunately unable to run our Social Hockey sessions due to COVID-19 restrictions. We plan for social hockey as well as all our competitive team squads to still be able to train this coming season following England Hockey and social distancing guidelines. We are still able to offer training for a wide range of levels. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact our Social Sport Co-ordinator Ibby Akinseye:

We look forward to seeing you in September! For more information, you can check out the Sport Sheffield Social Sport page here.
