Wockey FC

Wockey FC is the Campus League Football team for the women's club that play 6-a-side against other societies on Tuesday afternoons.

Campus League, formally known as Intra-mural sport, is a program which offers staff and students the opportunity to play sport in fun and competitive leagues with weekly fixtures. It takes place on the 3G pitches at Goodwin Sports Centre, which is within a 15 min walk from most university accommodation and right next to Dam House pub looking over Crookes Valley Park so it's a great place to socialise post-game as well. Campus League sport is a large part of the student experience at the University of Sheffield and students of all sporting abilities are encouraged to get involved.

Every year we enter our 'Wockey FC' team into the 6-a-side women's league and it is open to all in the club and is a lot of fun. Whether you have never kicked a ball in your life or believe you are the next Mo Salah, Wockey FC will welcome you to play!

We have been very successful in the past years, finishing top of the league most seasons! It is an excellent way to mix with players and make friends with people in different teams throughout the club. We also enter the FA People's Cup each year which gives us the opportunity to spend a fantastic day at St. George's Park and compete against other teams from across the country. So far we have finished 3rd and 1st - winning got us free tickets to the FA Cup Final at Wembley and a BBC sport mention - click here to check it out.

Wockey netball is a fun opportunity to compete against other societies in friendly netball matches whilst spending more time with members of the hockey team, women's and men's club. Freshers and other club members are all welcome to play, whether you want to enjoy a game of netball or meet others from different teams within the hockey club. Matches take place every week and a range of players are selected, giving everyone a chance to play. The matches are super friendly with a range of abilities in all teams, so don’t be afraid to join, you won’t regret it!
